Her game got some pretty good reviews, and random people thought it was overrated, so they started harassing her (because of course they did). I remember it being used at least as early as 2005.Īnd it wasn't her dating and dumping a reviewer. SJW has been around long before "gamergate" (god, that "gate" suffix is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid), which was only 2 years ago.

Seriously, the whole thing went of rails pretty hard (I wasnt there, I just read it on wikipedia :) ). What started out as a legitimate(?) concern about biased game reviewing turned into an internet witchhunt for this female reviewer with people posting her address and wanting to burn her at the stake. Uddhava の投稿を引用:The term SJW itself originated from a big internet spat where a female gamereviewer supposedly dated a game designer for props, and subsequently dumped him or something. Its an interesting, if slightly confusing development. Women are finally infiltrating in what was very long a male-only hobby. And here I was thinking gamers were all spectacle wearing pimplefaces, but times have changed. It surprises me how hardcore some people are about social equality when it threatens their past-time. The term SJW itself originated from a big internet spat where a female gamereviewer supposedly dated a game designer for props, and subsequently dumped him or something. Something similar happened here when we discussed more female units for Mordheim. It wouldn't surprise me if the thing is still going. Granted, the current races that are in the game now do not feature a lot of female heroines, but that was not yet clear when development of the game was starting. Consequently, everyone and their granny posted with the majority going 'Feminazi's! and 'SJW' because supposedly it wouldn't be lore friendly to do so, despite numerous examples of female heroes in the warhammer (40K) universe.

The thread was started before the game came out to ask CA to include female characters from the lore. A good example is the 1000page thread on the Total Warhammer forum started by a girl over including female legendary lords. Its a common derogatory term now, used whenever somethings reeks of social equality for the sake of it. Ah this guy! Yeah saw some of his check out social justice warrior (SJW).
